Camp Kesem in Utah Valley supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. They are part of the largest national organization dedicated to this unique population – supporting children with modern, fun-filled programs that create a lasting community.
When a parent finds out they have cancer it affects the whole family, especially the children. The camp is often the only safe place where children can share their experiences of loss and grief with other kids who can relate to their feelings. This has a lasting impact on children by giving them a peer-support network that understands their unique needs, builds confidence, and strengthens their communication skills.
Camp Kesem is directed by students from Utah Valley who volunteer year-round to create, manage, and run their life changing programs. They provide a week-long, free summer camp and year-round support for children throughout Utah. To get your child involved, visit campkesem.org.
SelectHealth recognizes the lasting impact of Camp Kesem as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
