OGDEN, Utah — A pipeline repair in Ogden will shut off a chunk of the city’s water on Saturday.
Water will be shut down from 5 a.m. to midnight.
Ogden City resident Loren Cure said most of the people in his neighborhood had no idea it was happening.
“They only send out one email, and they only send it out a day ahead. I mean, the waters gonna start being off at 5 a.m. tomorrow. Do you know how much fun that’s gonna be for people who don’t know about it? They wake up and they wanna take a shower and there’s nothing there,” he said.
The outage will affect homes and buildings from Canyon Road north to the city limits around 1500 North and then from Quincy Avenue east to 1800 East.
Cure said living without running water for a day can cause major issues, especially because the city said dirty water will be coming out of the pipes.
“If your refrigerator puts out water and ice, you wanna turn that off because if you don’t you’re gonna get some really nasty ice and water,” he said. “And then it says don’t use your hot water until the cold water runs clear because if you try to do laundry with dirty water you’re gonna have dirty laundry.”
Ogden City said the water will be discolored after maintenance is finished. Don’t use it until cold water runs clear.
