Fatal crash in Tooele involving 12-year-old

TOOELE, Utah — A 12-year-old boy has died after a crash on State Route 138 in Tooele County.
According to Sgt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:45 p.m.
He said a Mercedes passenger car was driving west on SR 138. It was turning to go southbound on Sun Valley Dr. when the boy T-boned the passenger side of the Mercedes with his dirt bike.
Roden said the boy died at the scene.
“It was reported that the dirt bike did not have any lights, but we are working to confirm that,” Roden said. “There are no injuries out of the Mercedes.”
SR 138 was closed from the time of the crash and in both directions but has now just opened.
