A snow advisory in effect for portions of Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Big changes are coming in Utah’s weather. Falling temperatures, rain and snow will affect your plans this weekend.
KSL Meteorologist Grant Weyman said the rain should start along the Wasatch Front around 9 or 10 this morning, and then get really heavy this afternoon and into the evening.
Heavy rains already fell earlier this morning in Box Elder and Cache Counties, with light rain reported in southern Utah.
The National Weather Service of Salt Lake City issued a snow advisory for the Uinta Mountains above 8,500 feet. They say as much as 12 inches could fall by Saturday night.

The Wasatch Front will see a high today of 64 degrees, dropping to 54 on Saturday. It will get even colder next week as a second storm moves in.
More rain is expected on Monday and Tuesday with highs reaching only 49 degrees. Lows will be in the mid-30s in the valleys with a possibility of snow and even colder at higher elevations.
Be sure to bring umbrellas and jackets, especially if you’re heading outdoors to catch a football game.
