Accidents across the state cause multiple closures

SALT LAKE CITY — Icy roads, a power line accident, and several crashes caused closures across U.S. Route 40, U.S. Route 6, and Interstate 15 Monday morning.
SR 40 closure
In a tweet at 7:22 a.m., the Utah Highway Patrol said westbound SR 40 was closed at mile marker 13.

U.S.-6 closure
At 7:24 a.m. UHP also tweeted that U.S.-6 was closed eastbound at Thistle Junction because of a crash near Soldier Summit. U.S.-6 westbound was also closed at mile marker 210 near the summit.

UHP said it had troopers on the scene and a helicopter on the way.
I-15 closures
I-15 was closed briefly northbound at 500 South but reopened before 6:00 a.m.
UHP said I-15 southbound at Parrish Lane closed around 5:00 a.m. and only two lanes were open by 8:00 a.m. UHP recommended using Legacy Parkway as an alternate route.
The closure came after a semi-truck caught a powerline and flipped over.
