Body recovered from surplus canal Saturday night

SALT LAKE CITY — A body was recovered from a surplus canal Saturday night, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
Brent Weisberg with SLCPD says a community member discovered the body at around 9 p.m. Saturday. Following this, the Salt Lake City Police Department removed the body and turned it over to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
There are no obvious signs of suspicious trauma, according to police.
Currently, the Medical Examiner’s Office is working to confirm a cause and manner of death as well as confirming an identity.
SLCPD has no further information at this time.
