Grenade found near the 201 freeway in West Valley City was fake

West Valley City — A grenade found near the 201 freeway near Redwood Road this morning was fake, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

According to Chris Bishop with UHP, the bomb squad was called to investigate. Investigators found the grenade and deemed it to be fake.

All of the closures are now open to traffic.

The incident has been cleared and all closures should be opening up.
