PROVO, Utah — A newly-obtained report from Provo police said that the Provo man recently killed by FBI agents had previously pointed a gun at two people as well as other police officers.

According to the report, first requested by The Deseret News, police responded to the home of 75-year-old Craig Robertson five years ago for allegedly pointing a gun at Google Fiber employees working in his backyard.

Robertson was never charged but Provo police said Robertson answered his door holding an AR-15 when officers responded.

Robertson was shot and killed last Wednesday by FBI agents serving a search warrant involving threats against President Biden and other U.S. officials. The incident occurred just hours before President Biden arrived in Utah.

Robertson’s most recent threat against the President came two days before the incident on Monday, Aug. 7.

The FBI said Monday that Robertson pointed a revolver at agents before being shot last week.

Court documents say the FBI began surveilling Robertson almost a year ago. The FBI first reached out to Robertson about one of his social media posts on March 19, 2023.

Nearly a week later on March 24, Robertson made threats, on social media, against the FBI agents who were investigating him, by posting the agents came close to “violent eradication”.
